WEDDING SUPPORT: WEDDINGS AT WORK

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

Thumbs up (kasama na big toe)!

Because of W@W, we were able to make our wedding more than what we imagined it to be. We were able to get very talented and professional suppliers, and were able to get a lot of ideas on what to look out for, who to book, and other what not’s.

WEDDING RINGS: c/o Dr. DATZ AGUIRRE

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

Our wedding rings were from M’s late father’s old jewelries. The supplier: M’s cousin’s patient’s son. Got it? We were told he only does it part-time.

PAPER STRAWS: PARTY STARTERS

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

We ordered paper straws in 2 colors, with 2 designs each. M was already supposed to buy the straws from Oz but the one from Party Starters were cheaper by about $3 to $4 per pack.

DINNER CREW MEALS: PACKED GOURMET

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

What made us book Packed Gourmet was the fact that they have 2 cups of rice in their packed meals (we had male-dominated set of suppliers).

M initially saw Packed Gourmet from a wall post in FB – got curious about their package and inquired right away. Their FB account said they were from Imus, however they assured us that the meals would still be warm by the time of delivery. We let our coordinators choose what to order – we gave them the choices from which they picked Chicken Cordon Bleu.

LUNCH MEAL: SINCERITY CAFE AND RESTAURANT

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

We have never tried their foods before, probably because we were never one to go to Binondo when we were young, although we heard from other people that their fried chicken is to die for.

Looking at their menu, M’s initial thought was that the packed meal seems to be too dry, as there wasn’t any sauce if we were to avail of their fried chicken packed meal. Based on the photo they posted in their Facebook account, the serving seemed small.

LECHON: c/o MARY ANN SORIA

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

We did not get to taste the lechon (by itself) – but we were able to make the left-overs into lechon paksiw.

No one can argue that Cebu has the best lechon. So when Mary Ann offered to sponsor our lechon, and that it will come all the way from Cebu, and we’ll have 2 instead of 1, we got so excited. Imagine having 2 lechon, via Cebu Pacific, and sponsored at that!

VAN FOR FAMILY: MOBELINE

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

We learned about Mobeline from none other than W@W and thought their rates were reasonable.

After sending them an inquiry via their website, we received a reply right away, and booked them instantly – we told them we wanted to hire the Toyota Hi-Ace and gave them the itinerary (E.Rodriguez-Greenhills-Ortigas-Sauyo-Frisco). They told us to send them our contact details & pick-up address a few days before the day. They did not require any downpayment and told us to just pay in full on the day.

CHOREOGRAPHER: JOANNA FOZ CASTRO

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

We got in contact with Joanna about 6 weeks prior to the wedding via FB message. She was on a vacay then but got back to us via SMS as soon as she read her inbox.

BRIDAL CAR: c/o PRINCIPAL SPONSOR

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

The best things in life are free – and it was true for our bridal car.

We both wanted a white vehicle – and did not want to spend much for it. Our first option was to borrow from our relatives and/or friends which meant having to do away with white. Renting was the last option.

PROJECTOR & SCREEN: NM DIGITAL ENTERPRISE (NORVIN GUMAYAGAY)

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

Norvin already worked heaps of times with our S&L supplier, so we knew we would never have a problem with them working together.

When we visited him at one of his events in December 2011, we weren’t able to see how the projector would look like – would it be too bright? Too dark?

SOUNDS & LIGHTS: REJECTKREW

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

Rejectkrew was probably one of the busiest suppliers we had, having events left, right and center.

When we started contacting Elmer to ask about his rates, we were already expecting it might take days, even weeks, before he would reply. The strategy: send him a message early in the morning.

PHOTOBOOTH: IFLICK

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

Having a photo studio in our wedding was what we preferred rather than having a photo booth. So it is safe to say that we actually never planned on getting any photo booth for our wedding. That was until we could not find a mobile photo studio within our budget.

DRAPES: AMARANTHUS FLORIST

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

When we booked our reception venue, M thought having ceiling drapes would not be possible (based on reading the venue’s guidelines). That was until Jed & Maan told us we can. R was happy to know this, and decided then that he wanted to have drapes.

HOST: RICHARD AGTARAP

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

When we decided we’d get a professional emcee for the wedding, there were only 7 days left until the wedding.

OTD COORDINATOR: EVENTS MALDITAS

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

One of our best suppliers, no question! We booked them a year before the wedding after meeting 2 other coordinators – that’s because we jived with Charisse the most.

HMUA FOR FAMILY: JOPAY SAN JUAN, ALYSSA ZARATE & YANYAN GARCIA

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

M knew Jopay from way back 2004(?) – she and Tini (M’s sister) belong to the same circle of friends.

HMUA: CARMIE LOCSIN & ALEX LEYSON

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

M only went for a trial hair & make-up with Carmie & Alex 2 weeks before the wedding, months after we already booked them.

We were initially considering other HMUAs prior to booking them, but Carmie’s portfolio was the deciding factor. R liked her portfolio so much that M booked her right away.

INVITES: WINGDINGZ

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

Our invites were semi-DIYs. The invites were supposed to be purely DIY until we decided we wanted a black background for the main card and we know that if we print them ourselves, we would just end up paying more for the ink/cartridge.

FLORIST: AMARANTHUS FLORIST

Rating Legend:

We set a budget for the flowers, and we achieved it – not a single cent more.

CAKE: HEARTS AND BELLS

Rating Legend:
5 – highest
1 – lowest

When we tried their cakes for the first time, we were very pleased – the cakes were moist and yummy. That was a hit and miss, as we already booked them prior to the cake taste test.

Our first meeting was at the SM North Edsa Wedding Library. We sent them an SMS 15mins before our scheduled meet-up and were glad we did as they forgot we had a meet-up that day. Marita said she will send one of her staff to meet us there, and that he will be there in an hour.
